I had the privilege of attending Afronation in Accra, Ghana, which was one of the largest music concerts in the country. “Year of Return,” a historic marketing campaign aimed at the African-American and diaspora markets, was in full swing, and it was a remarkable time to be in Ghana.

The festival was a celebration of African culture from all continents and was attended by over 15,000 people on the stunning coastline of Accra.

I was amazed by the talent on display, especially Burna Boy, who has been making waves on massive international platforms and was even nominated for a Grammy Award. His performance at Afronation was the cherry on top of an incredible year for him. The festival showcased a wide range of music genres, including Afrobeats, Hip-hop, UK Rap, Reggae, and Dancehall, making it a true melting pot of African culture.

It was incredible to be a part of such a unique and special event, which highlighted Ghana’s position as a Mecca for diasporans. The atmosphere was electric, and I will never forget the memories I made at Afronation.
